Ice Cream
Adonighel is a singer-songwriter second-generation Haitian-American. It was a joy to interview this very talented artist and publish the interview to one of our partner stations. Stay tuned to UBC-TV https://www.glewed.tv/movie/ubctv. Also on the Glewed Tv app on your android or iPhone.
Born to 2 Haitian parents, she’s had a passion turned to purpose, for music since a child. Adonighel has a rich, soulful sound that can make you dance, or cry. Some of her inspirations are jarring and are on different ends of genres. 1975, Ariana Grande, Sweet Micky, Brent Faiyaz, and many current contemporary, alternative, and pop artists.
“Ice Cream” is a fun dance song, where Adonighel speaks of her love of options! Her next big project Enigma (TBA) will be exactly that. “Oftentimes I find that people I meet and who understand a version of me, are always pleasantly surprised that such an eccentric bubbly girl like me could make such sonically pleasing, emotional music.”
Adonighel’s latest song “Summertime” from her Summer Pack is sultry, rich, and reminiscent of the feeling of a summer night. At the end of the song she speaks in her native tongue (Haitian Creole) longing for 300 days, awaiting those moody skies, and warm summer nights.
The self-proclaimed musical narcissist!
